Long History of Lacrosse in Chico, CA

Chico State Lacrosse

Chico State has been playing Lacrosse since 1985 as part of the MCLA (Mens Collegiate Lacrosse Association) as a Division II program in the WCLL (West Coast Lacrosee League).

Chico Rebels Lacrosse

Chico Rebels Youth Lacrosse was founded in 2002 by Brian Kehoe. At it’s height, Chico Rebels had 1 -3 teams at each level (10u, 12u, 14u, JV, and Varsity) consisting of 15-20 players each. In 2006 they won JV State Title, and was Voted the best program in the state. As High Schools have started CIF Programs through the Sacramento Area and Foothills, their High School programs have struggled to find opponents. The Youth program has remained full with teams at the 12U and 14U levels, however, to continue to grow Chico High Schools need to start CIF programs for our youth to continue to play.
